January 2025, I lost my oldest cat — my most loyal companion, my best friend.
Cici was diagnosed with suspected lymphoma sometime in October 2024. The symptoms looked like asthma attacks. I had her checked several times and all the time, the vet ruled out asthma.
Further checks revealed Cici might be suffering from lymphoma. There were enlarged lymph nodes found near her neck and heart. I was told it was not operate-able as operation posed high risks.
I took Cici for a second opinion at a different vet, and received similar news sadly. Chemotherapy was possible but was high risks for a senior cat like Cici.
Cici was put on palliative care to support however long of life she has left. She passed away on January 31st, on my lap. Cici was 11 years old.
Cici was a rescued cat. She was found soaked in a drainage in a heavy rain in a very poor condition. Her eyes were badly affected so she lost one side of her vision. She was only about 2 months old when she was rescued. She fought hard to survive her first few months of life. She fought depression a few times growing up. But ultimately she grew up well and healthy until she fell ill and passed.
I will miss you forever, Cici. You are my most loyal companion, my best friend.
